Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Sometimes it’s not a case, necessarily, but anytime I am able to help a potential client better understand why an event occurred (regardless of negligence) always makes a difference to that person.

How did you build a successful practice?

My unique combination of nursing and legal understanding helps me excel in the medical malpractice field.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Honesty, empathy, and passion in wanting to help others.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

My understanding of local hospital systems (having worked in several) gives me a unique understanding as to what policies and/or procedures may or should exist, how the internal review process works for adverse events etc. and the required reporting to state/federal agencies for certain types of events.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Hopefully an understanding of why an event may or may not rise to the level of a potential medical malpractice claim.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

What happened, when, and where did the event occur? What do youyou (as a potential client) understand to be the case (or what you have been told by medical providers)? What is your current condition, how has it changed since the event? What have you been told relative to your prognosis?

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My nursing background gives me a deeper understanding of the medicine and the hospital systems and the leadership response/reaction to events that should ensue. My legal background helps me put together strong cases, leveraging that medical background.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping people understand what happened, why it happened, and the hope that comes with bringing a lawsuit that the hospitals will take the event seriously and put safety measures or training in place to prevent anyone from suffering the same or similar harm in the future.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My kids, family, being outside and yoga.
