Thank you for looking at our site. I hope we are able to help you. Rather than just giving you the “typical” biographical information, I want to tell you about myself. I have a strong sense of justice. All my friends and family would tell you it is absolutely true, but I once took a personality test that confirmed it! Seriously, when Chris [Klotz, my former partner] and I started our previous firm, we took personality tests to determine if we would work well together, and it confirmed that justice is extremely important to me. That is probably why I became a trial lawyer. The courtroom is the great leveling of the playing field. I enjoy taking on big opponents for the disadvantaged or the oppressed. I feel helping individuals fight against big corporations or the government is a calling of mine. My clients hire me because they know I will fight for them. Sometimes cases go to trial. Sometimes they do not. Regardless, I am always prepared to try a case and to aggressively represent my clients within the scope of the law. I am constantly studying the law and the latest strategies for being a successful lawyer. I regularly talk with other lawyers about what has worked best in their practice and share my own experiences with them so that they can help their clients. Many lawyers try to keep information or strategies to themselves because they are afraid that other lawyers will compete with them for business. I feel that if I can help another lawyer help his or her client, then I have not lost business, but have helped someone gain justice. I am a native Floridian. I was born in Pensacola and graduated from Gulf Breeze High School. I attended college at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. I majored in American History and felt a strong call to become a lawyer after realizing just how short we sometimes fall of the American Dream. I went to law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and passed the Florida Bar shortly after. I am also licensed in Federal courts and in Alabama. I have represented clients from Huntsville, Hayneville, Foley, and Mobile, Alabama to Pensacola, Fort Walton, Marianna, Jacksonville, and Tampa, Florida. I have found that the American system of justice is the same in each place. It is the greatest system in the world despite its flaws. I spent my early years as a lawyer honing my trial skills through stints as a prosecutor and an insurance defense lawyer. However, I have found my passion is representing individuals in the courtroom against those who mistreat them. I grew up in the waters and the forests of Florida and Alabama’s Gulf Coast, and I chose to move back home because of the natural beauty of the area. I find strength spending time with my family on the waters of Pensacola Bay or the Gulf of Mexico or among the pine woods of South Alabama. Watching my kids play sports (they play baseball, soccer, and football) gives me great joy. If I am not in the office, I am likely enjoying outdoor activity with my wife or children. I am also active in the community and civic organizations including governing boards for Christ Church, Pathways for Change, and St. John’s Cemetery. I have played drums since I was 10 years old, and Chris [Klotz] and I play in a rock and roll band called Alcaniz. We play in different venues around Pensacola like Hopjacks, The Fish House, The Bridge Bar, and Seville Quarter. Come see us play some time!

In 2000, he started his law career as a paralegal for what was then Eubanks & Barrett. In his first full year as a lawyer, he litigated a case that resulted in a 1.6 million dollar recovery. His client walked away with more than a million dollars after paying attorney fees and costs. Jimmy became a partner and shareholder in the law firm that same year. Since then, Jimmy has had numerous multimillion and million dollar recoveries. In 2015, he was listed in the nation’s top 1% of lawyers when he obtained a 5.4 million dollar verdict and a 3.1 million dollar judgment from a jury trial in Gadsden County, Florida. Jimmy has witnessed firsthand the way insurance companies and big businesses take advantage of people, and he has developed a strategy he calls the “full court press” strategy for achieving justice for his clients. He loves being a lawyer, and he loves fighting for his clients in front of a jury. His most compelling characteristic is his love for the people he serves. He demonstrates compassion for his clients both in and out of the courtroom. In the first part of my career, I represented several Fortune 500 companies and tried cases all across the state. I now use that knowledge to help individuals and families through the claim and litigation process. I truly enjoy taking the complicated and making it uncomplicated.

Before Dana Brooks became an attorney, she was a paralegal, law firm administrator, mental health counselor and Florida Supreme Court certified family law mediator. Dana attended Pensacola Junior College and Tallahassee Community College before graduating Florida State University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She later earned her Masters of Social Work from Florida State in 2003. Dana earned her law degree from Florida State, magna cum laude, in December 2007 and is a member of the Order of the Coif, signifying the top 10% of law school graduates. Her experience and reputation as a medical malpractice defense paralegal combined with her law school performance provided the basis for the exceptional opportunity Dana was offered while still in law school. Dana was sworn in as an attorney in the morning and made a named partner of a thirty-year-old revered plaintiff’s law firm that same afternoon. Dana is a member of The Florida Bar, Tallahassee Women Lawyers, and the Tallahassee Bar Association. She is past-president of the Capital City Justice Association. She is a member of the Florida Justice Association and serves on its Medical Malpractice Committee. Dana is a Charter Member of the Democratic Women’s Club of Leon County, a former Trustee of the Florida Democratic Party and is active in vetting and supporting candidates for political office. Her awards and recognition are many. She was honored to be given the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from the FSU College of Social Work in 2013. In 2014, she was awarded the Alumni Service Award from FSU College of Law. 2015 found Dana being recognized by her peers for her excellence. She was named in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers from The National Trial Lawyers, a Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend, and a Million Dollar Advocate from the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. She enjoys a 10.0 rating on Avvo, the highest attainable. Dana is committed to giving back to the community. She currently serves on the board of 2-1-1 Big Bend and is a former board member of America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend. She is a frequent – and winning – coach of the FSU Law School’s Mock Trial Team. Under her leadership, Fasig Brooks supports Jazz for Justice, the Tallahassee Memorial Foundation, The Heart Association, Springtime Tallahassee, the Ronald McDonald House, Tree House, The Wakulla County Senior Citizen’s Center, and many other local and national charities. With her support and encouragement, attorneys and staff at Fasig Brooks contribute thousands of volunteer hours to the community every year. Helping people thrive in spite of their challenges has given Dana a unique perspective when advocating for her injured clients. Her experience in social work strengthened her desire to help at-risk persons and those most in need of an effective legal advocate. I grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, and I love to serve this community. I’m a proud Maclay Marauder, as well as both a Florida State University and University of Florida alumnus. During my time at UF’s Levin College of Law, I gained experience in both litigation and arbitration. I am proud to be a Shareholder at Fasig Brooks and have enjoyed representing injured clients since 2012. My experience has equipped me to advocate for my clients with speed and tenacity. I’m dedicated to supporting and empowering people to stand up for their rights. Beyond my work as an attorney, I love volunteering on the Board of Directors of the Oasis Center for Women and Girls. Kimberly (Kimmy) is a native Floridian, and grew up in Tallahassee. She attended Maclay School from Pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade, and considers herself a proud Maclay Marauder! After high school, Kimmy attended Florida State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2008 and a Masters of Art in Applied Economics in 2009. Kimmy continued her studies at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 2012. While in law school, Kimmy focused on gaining experience in many of the different phases of litigation. As an active participant in UF’s Mock Trial Team, she practiced court room skills daily under the watchful eye of seasoned litigation attorneys in preparation for various national mock trial competitions. As an active participant in UF’s International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team, Kimmy learned the art of being an effective counselor in arbitration. While still in law school, Kimmy presided as a co-mediator at the Alachua County Civil Justice Center. She also clerked at the First District Court of Appeal. Kimmy is licensed to practice before all Florida State Courts.

I’m a seasoned trial lawyer, now in my 27th year of practicing law as a civil litigator. I received my J.D., summa cum laude, after attending Georgetown University Law Center and University of Miami School of Law, where I served as a member of the distinguished University of Miami Law Review. Upon graduation, I became a member of the Order of the Coif, which is an honor bestowed on Juris Doctor graduates who rank in the top 10% of their class. Until joining Fasig Brooks in 2016, I was a partner in an esteemed civil defense firm, where I gained invaluable jury and bench trial experience representing both international and local corporations and insurance companies. She is a sought-after speaker in the legal field, delivering presentations to trial lawyers on Jury Selection/Voir Dire, Maximizing Technology at Trial, Identifying and Curing Workplace Toxicity and the Path to Becoming a Successful Female Personal Injury Attorney. Carrie was born and raised with three older brothers on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River and Gulf of Mexico in Ft. Myers, Florida. The first in her family to graduate from college, she graduated with honors from Florida State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. While at FSU, she was a proud member of the FSU Flying High Circus! Carrie earned her Juris Doctor in 1999 at the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude. She was a member of the prestigious University of Miami Law Review, as well as a member of the Order of the Coif, which is an honor bestowed on the top 10% of the graduating members of a law school class. While in Miami, Carrie gained invaluable experience as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge David Gersten at Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal. In 1998, Carrie moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as an associate in the litigation section of one of the world’s largest law firms and where she had the privilege of completing her third year of law school at Georgetown University Law Center. Following graduation, Carrie served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Administrative Law Judge Richard Stansell-Gamm with the United States Department of Labor. Carrie spent the first 16 years of her legal career in Tallahassee as a defense litigator whose primary focus was defending a wide array of professionals sued in malpractice actions. Before joining her former rivals and very good friends at Fasig | Brooks in July 2016, Carrie was a shareholder in a prominent defense litigation firm and a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. A seasoned trial lawyer, Carrie is now a Partner at Fasig Brooks, an esteemed group of people who work tirelessly to protect the rights of others. She is always eager to use her legal skills, which were already well-honed from many years of defense practice, and sharpened with nearly a decade of practice on the plaintiff’s side to achieve justice for her clients and improve their overall lives as their attorney in their personal injury cases. Carrie is a personal fitness enthusiast and plays competitive soccer around the country in numerous adult leagues. She enjoys adventure travelling and being on the boat with her family. She is also committed to improving our community and currently serves as the Director of Southwood Gives Back and was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the Tallahassee-Leon County Shelter. Carrie and her husband Jaken, also a litigation attorney, are the proud parents of two sons, Gabriel and Sebastian.

Dan Hogan was born and raised in the Midwest. He moved to Florida after graduating from the University of Illinois and taught high school for several years before attending law school at the University of Florida. As a teacher he honed his presentation skills, often using stories to keep students’ attention. At UF Law, Dan found his calling when he received “Best Advocate” at the school-wide mock trial competition. He went on to win the state-wide Chester Bedell mock trial competition and the nationwide San Antonio competition. Following graduation in 2011, he joined the Public Defender’s office, where he had the best opportunity to try cases. Dan handled thousands of criminal cases, and over a thousand felony matters. He sat first chair on over forty jury trials, including armed robbery, homicide and capital sexual battery. He became the Chief Assistant Public Defender for Gadsden and Liberty counties before moving to the Capital Crimes division in Tallahassee where he handled exclusively first-degree murder cases for the entire circuit. In 2021, Dan moved from criminal to civil litigation, developing a diverse practice including commercial transactions, contract disputes, construction defect, partnership disputes, and personal injury. He continued developing his jury trial skills in the civil context and in November 2025 secured a $5.2 million jury verdict in a slip-and-fall case in Collier County. In March of 2026, Dan joined Fasig | Brooks Law Offices as Of Counsel. He brings a wealth of trial and litigation experience to the firm and now focuses on personal injury cases, helping clients navigate complex legal matters and advocating for maximum recovery. Dan’s experience in high-stakes litigation gives him a unique perspective on negotiating settlements and pursuing creative solutions for his clients. He lives in Tallahassee with his wife and fellow attorney, Kimmy, and their two boys, Harrison and Theo. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, and cooking.

A native of Lakeland, and Dunnellon, Florida, Kendall lived in various parts of the State of Florida before moving to Tallahassee. As a civil litigator and trial attorney, he spent the first leg of his professional career advocating for Insurance companies and large corporations and working for the largest Insurance defense firm in the State of Florida. Kendall realized his talents could be better served advocating for the vulnerable, and the injured. He values and strives toward being a zealous advocate for his clients and always doing what’s right. Kendall earned Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law in 2023 and his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University. He is proud to continue his legal career with an esteemed group of professionals at Fasig | Brooks serving the public as a champion for the injured.

As a civil litigator and trial attorney, I have devoted my legal career to serving the interests of the injured. I stand up for causes, not cases, and I value hard work. I’m committed to holding wrongdoers accountable, and treating others with kindness and compassion; traits I learned from my parents at a young age. I’m fueled today to succeed for my clients by the same competitive drive with which I grew up playing sports. At the end of the day, results matter, and that’s a responsibility I embrace. That is one of the many reasons why obtaining a Top 100 Jury Verdict for Civil Rights Violations in the United States (2022) for a deserving client remains one of my core trial accomplishments to date. Regardless of whether maximizing the value of my client’s claim means settlement or trial, I set out to do exactly that in every case that I’m involved. I am blessed and grateful to have recovered millions of dollars for clients who have suffered physical, mental, and/or emotional harms resulting from the wrongful death of a loved one, car and motorcycle crashes, trucking wrecks, slip and falls, negligent security, prescription medication errors and dental/medical malpractice. However, beyond the financial compensation awarded to my clients, it is the bonds that I’ve built with them, people from all walks of life who trust me in their times of need, that I cherish most. For that, I am forever thankful.
