About Lauren
Lauren M. Burke joined Perry, Krumsiek & Jack, LLP, in 2007. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from The Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School. Prior to joining Perry, Krumsiek & Jack, LLP, Ms. Burke clerked for Preti Flaherty LLP, a regional law firm with offices throughout New England.
Currently Ms. Burke works in both federal and state courts on a variety of legal issues, including civil litigation, commercial litigation, employment and discrimination, licensing, probate. She also works in the Private Counsel Division for the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services on appeals and post-conviction advocacy.
While in law school, Ms. Burke worked as a Judicial Intern for the Supreme Court of New York, Suffolk County, where she gained exposure to a wide array of trial level cases, both civil and criminal. She also spent a summer in Washington D.C., serving as a law clerk to the Board of Veterans' Appeals for the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs, where she gained valuable appellate experience drafting decisions for Administrative Law Judges.
During the 2006-2007 academic year, Ms. Burke worked for the Suffolk County District Court in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where she served District Attorney Daniel Conley and assistant district attorneys as an intern under Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:03. While in the District Attorney's office, Ms. Burke argued evidentiary motions, assisted at trials, represented the Commonwealth at arraignment hearings and worked with assistant district attorneys and opposing counsel on a number of pending matters, including juvenile proceedings.
Ms. Burke remains an active member of the American Bar Association and currently serves in a leadership role in the Young Lawyers Chapter of the Boston Catholic Lawyers Guild.
Prior to law school, Ms. Burke worked in the Governor of Florida's liaison office in Washington D.C. as a legislative aide, and at Marc Associates as a lobbyist for health care and education. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ms. Burke now resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
