About Michael
Michael P. Logan is the managing partner of the Fairfax, Virginia law firm of Grad, Logan & Klewans, P.C. He has practiced in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area for 27 years. Throughout his career, Mr. Logan has dealt with the formation of various types of businesses, and complex mergers and sales. He has also served as general counsel to various public companies and professional associations.
Working extensively in the areas of business law and estate planning, including wills, probate, revocable and irrevocable trusts, power of attorneys, living wills and business succession planning, Mr. Logan recognizes the importance of carefully evaluating the individual situation and special concerns. Areas of special concern can include special needs trusts for the disabled as well as the use of trusts to protect assets from creditor's of future beneficiaries. With his background in both business and estate planning, Mr. Logan is able to provide valuable assistance to business owners in planning for the eventual transfer of ownership and control of their businesses. He also works with high-asset clients in developing estate plans in order to address estate tax concerns, and assists with the complexities of estate tax return preparation and audits. Mr. Logan also serves as a qualified intermediary for 1031 (starker) tax free exchange transactions.
In the area of health law, Mr. Logan's clientele includes both multi-specialty and small groups of health care providers. He has extensive experience in structuring business transactions to comply with federal and state laws such as those involving anti-kickback, fraud and abuse, and illegal referral.
