About Michael
Firm principal Michael C. Hall is a native of Southern California. He attained a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from California State Polytechnic University in 1976. He attended the University of California Hastings College of the Law from 1977 through 1980, where he attained his Juris Doctor degree.
He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1981. Mr. Hall was admitted to Pi Gamma Mu, the national honorary society for scholars of the social sciences. He was also a member of the Public Interest Honors program at Hastings College of the Law. Throughout his career, Mr. Hall has engaged in many public interest activities, including serving as a community advisor to the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
Mr. Hall is currently a member of the Real Estate section of the State Bar of California, and of its committee on landlord-tenant law. He has published numerous articles of interest to the landlord-tenant community, including in the San Francisco Apartment Owners Association Magazine and in the newsletter of the San Francisco Small Property Owners Association. Mr. Hall has also appeared as a legal commentator on KGO radio.
Mr. Hall was lead counsel in a reported case: Gibble v. Car-Lene Research, Inc., 67 Cal.App.4th 295 (1998), which involved a civil procedure question that was resolved by the Court of Appeal in favor of Mr. Hall's clients. Mr. Hall has also conducted successful appeals in other cases which were not reported.
Mr. Hall has served as a judge pro tempore for the San Francisco Superior Court and continues to serve as a mediator for the Early Settlement Program of the Bar Association of San Francisco. Mr. Hall continues to work as a mediator and negotiator in addition to his courtroom advocacy.
With almost thirty years experience as a litigator, Mr. Hall has served as lead counsel in numerous successful jury trials, primarily in the personal injury and landlord-tenant fields, including serious bodily injury cases and wrongful eviction suits.
