Before establishing The Eagle Law Firm, Omar practiced at a midsized law firm in Claremont, where he led the Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Civil Litigation departments. In his role as a criminal defense attorney, he zealously represented clients during the investigation and prosecution of both misdemeanor and felony charges, including DUI, battery, robbery, domestic violence, sexual assault, child molestation, and murder. As a civil litigator, he advocated for clients with claims involving breach of contract, securities fraud, elder abuse, slander, defamation, professional malpractice, premises liability, negligence, interference with expected inheritance, and disputes over real property ownership. Since founding The Eagle Law Firm, Omar has continued to focus on family law and civil litigation, successfully litigating hundreds of cases to final judgment and achieving outstanding results for his clients. Mr. Serrato’s extensive courtroom experience includes trying numerous cases across criminal, civil, and family law. He has successfully argued multiple merit hearings in immigration court and participated in multi-million dollar lawsuits involving allegations of securities fraud. Throughout his career, Omar has written and argued hundreds of motions in criminal, family, immigration, civil, and appellate courts, personally appearing in courtrooms from Bakersfield to San Diego, California. Omar graduated from the University of La Verne in May 2013, where he was an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Criminal Law Society. While in law school, he interned with the San Bernardino District Attorney's Office as a student intern and bar-certified clerk, gaining invaluable courtroom experience by arguing motions and prosecuting preliminary hearings. He was also a vital member of the Trial Team that placed 3rd in the 2012 ABA Labor Law Mock Trial Competition.

My mission objective is to find a practical approach to either settle a family law case or when necessary take the best approach to litigation as a last resort. Most clients are unfamiliar with their rights and duties under the law. A misstep can bring a disastrous result leading to the loss of child custody, spousal support, or even property rights. In my 31 years of experience in Family Law, I have negotiated and litigated child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, family maintenance, complex property and debt, move-away cases, and much more. The practice of Family Law is such a fluid area of the law that we must keep abreast of the ever-changing rules and procedures affecting our clients. My effort is to get the most reasonable outcome at the lowest possible cost to the client by advising the client of all the known available options then apply the best approach to optimize the results.
