Before doing so, Richard worked as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Clermont County Prosecutor's Office. He prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor cases, including DUIs, thefts, sex offenses, domestic violence charges, and traffic violations.

Richard negotiated pleas on behalf of the State of Ohio on a daily basis and was lead counsel on numerous jury trials and hundreds of bench trials. He researched and drafted countless responses to discovery demands, procedural motions, and other documents prepared incident to hearings and trials.

Before becoming a prosecutor, Richard worked as a litigation associate with Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL, one of the largest law firms in Greater Cincinnati.

Richard attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law, during which he served as law clerk for Judge Robert C. Winkler of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. Richard received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Dayton where he majored in Finance and played for UD's NCAA Division 1 varsity soccer program.

Richard was born and raised in Mt. Lookout on the east side of Cincinnati. He graduated from St. Xavier High School and was a member of the Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club.
