ROBERT W. TENNANT graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota and received his Juris Doctorate degree from New England School of Law in Boston. Attorney Tennant has been practicing law in the Newton area since 1976, concentrating on real estate conveyancing, business law, probate and administration of estates, and tort law.

A member of the American Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Association, he is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, U.S. District Court and the Massachusetts state courts. He currently serves as an arbitrator for the Massachusetts Bar Association Fee Arbitration Board and is a licensed insurance and real estate broker.

Active in numerous civic organizations, Attorney Tennant is the past president of the Newton Boys and Girls Club and the Newton Kiwanis Club, past Master of Norumbega & Brookline Lodge, A.F. & A.M., a member of Aleppo Temple of Shriners, and the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, and former VIP and metro-west chair of the Massachusetts Easter Seal Society. He has held directorships in the American Red Cross, Newton Masonic Associates, Fund for the Arts in Newton, Newton Kiwanis Charitable Foundation, and the Keystone Adolescent Program for troubled teenagers.

Attorney Tennant is a former federal attorney for the U. S. Small Business Administration, Disaster Branch (Boston) and legal counsel to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Disaster Recovery Team. He has directed and produced Boston area radio and television talk shows on WBZ and WHDH radio and WNAC-TV, WLVI-TV and WQTV.
