Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I had a motor vehicle accident case that occurred almost four years ago that I just recently settled. The at-fault drivers insurance company originally denied liability and I was forced to file a lawsuit. Shortly thereafter, I was able to get the full $25,000 policy limits. I then pursued an underinsured motorist (UIM) claim with my clients own auto insurance company. This insurance company and their defense attorney fought with me over every single thing. I had significant liability and causation issues that I had to overcome if I was ever going to settle this case. There was a significant "gap in treatment" for my client while all of this was going on because the only treatment he needed was a shoulder surgery. He had no health insurance, so the only way he could have the surgery is if I settled his case and he could use that settlement money to pay for the surgery. After a few years, the case went to mediation. The insurance adjuster and defense attorney tried to low-ball me for hours. I told them about an almost identical case I had with their own insurance company a few years prior and what that case settled for. At that moment they knew they could not settle this case for a dollar less than that prior case. I was able to get a significant UIM settlement for my client at mediation. My client was so relieved to finally have his case done with and to be receiving enough money to fairly compensate him for what he had gone through and still would have to go through with a future surgery. There were times where both myself and my client did not think we would ever settle this case. My client actually almost wanted to give up. I told my client on Day #1 when we first met that I would see his case all the way through regardless of how long it took or if we had to take his case to trial.

How did you build a successful practice?

With hard honest work. Treat each case like is your own. Never stop fighting and never back down from insurance companies and/or defense attorneys.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for an attorney that specializes in the particular area of law they are needing help with. Clients should do their research and find an attorney who gets good results and has good online reviews.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I will let a potential client know what to expect with their case. I will explain to them what their options are, how I can specifically help them, how my legal fees get paid, and will answer every single question they have.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I have to know the facts of the case. I need to know about injuries/damages, what issues they have, who are all the involved parties, etc.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I personally handle every single aspect of my clients cases - I make all my own phone calls and type up all my own letters. I am the one who will go to all of your court appearances. I am always available to talk.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I get to help my clients get closure on something that has drastically changed their life. I enjoy getting their case settled and getting them fairly compensated for what they have been through.
