Richard Ruhl (Rick) grew up in Charlotte County and was admitted to practice in Florida in 2002, and has been in private practice in southwest Florida since 2003. He attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Englewood and college in Fort Myers, graduating from International College, with a Bachelor's degree, summa cum laude. After this, he finished his Juris Doctorate at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami in 2001. After admission to the bar, Rick accepted a job with the Public Defender's Office, and from there, accepted a job offer from the Law Office of Robert Distefano in Fort Lauderdale. Jefferson M. Allen works primarily on business litigation (including shareholder/partner disputes, business torts, and employee non-compete litigation), construction and real estate litigation (including negligent/defective construction and mold claims), and creditors’ rights/bankruptcy matters. Mr. Allen also has significant litigation experience involving consumer law issues and consumer protection statutes, including the Federal Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Georgia Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Jeff has developed a broad and wide-ranging general commercial litigation practice representing clients in State and Federal Court, as well as private arbitration and mediation, throughout Georgia and the Southeast. Jeff is a 1998 graduate of Emory Law School, and a 1990 graduate of the University of Michigan. Catherine grew up in Flowery Branch, Georgia, graduating from West Hall High School. She attended the University of Georgia, and graduated cum laude with a B.B.A. in Business Management and a minor in Spanish. Catherine attended law school at Mercer University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, at the top of her class. She was a student editor for both the Mercer Law Review and the Journal of Southern Legal History, and clerked for various judges both in and after law school. She subsequently spent nearly a decade working for one of the nation's largest law firms before co-founding Payne & du Toit. She is licensed in both Georgia and Florida, and has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star. She also is a contributing author of Georgia Products Liability, a practitioner's guide to products liability law in Georgia. Catherine believes in giving back to the community. She remains active in juvenile justice issues, recently finishing her service on the Board for youthSpark, Inc., a nonprofit working to transform the lives of youth vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. Catherine is married with two beautiful children, and loves spending her free time with family and friends.

Rustin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia before attending Emory University School of Law, where he was selected for the Dean’s List, received the Dean’s Award, and was recommended for the Kesler-Eidson Trial Techniques Scholarship. Rustin has served on multiple Hall County nonprofit boards, was elected Gainesville Jaycee of the Year in 2011, and was a member of the 2015 State Bar Young Lawyer’s Leadership Academy.
