A local graduate of North Charleston High School, attorney John Price has practiced since 1985, serving as a state prosecutor in the Charleston County Solicitor’s Office before founding John Price Law Firm, LLC in 1988. Over the years, a large portion of her practice centered on representing parents and children in birth defect litigation as a result of mothers taking potentially dangerous drugs during pregnancy that lacked adequate safety warnings. Some of the potentially dangerous drugs during pregnancy include Paxil®, Zoloft®, Prozac®, Wellbutrin®, Depakote®, Diflucan®, Topomax® and Serequel®. Although she primarily concentrates on pharmaceutical litigation, her past experience includes work in tobacco and auto defect litigation as well.

David Morowitz is an ex-criminal prosecutor who has worked for prosecutor’s offices in Manhattan, Miami, and RI. David drove a yellow taxi cab at night in Manhattan to put himself through college and law school. He then spent 12 years working with law enforcement. He worked in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office for District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, the Miami State Attorney’s Office for State Attorney Janet Reno, and the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office for Attorney Generals James E. O’Neil and Jeffrey Pine.

Alexander Laufer joined the firm in 1994. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation and real estate transactions, providing services in the areas of personal injury law, medical malpractice, construction law and employment law. Mr. Laufer grew up in Montreal, Canada but also lived and attended school in Jerusalem and Johannesburg, South Africa. He speaks four languages, English, French, Hungarian and Hebrew. Mr. Laufer graduated (cum laude) in 1972 from Loyola College and with High Honors from the University of Florida School of Law in 1976. Mr. Laufer has been an adjunct professor at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida and more recently at the Marymount University School of Business. He is a member of both the Virginia and Florida bars and is a Commissioner in Chancery in Fairfax County. Mr. Laufer has over 35 years of experience in complex litigation in both state and federal courts, including bankruptcy court and has handled thousands of residential and commercial real estate transactions. In recent years Mr. Laufer has litigated numerous cases involving noncompliance by residential builders with the federal Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act. In addition, Mr. Laufer has become a member of the Vaccine Injury Program Bar and the Federal Court of Claims Bar Association and is assisting families with members injured by vaccines, in obtaining compensation pursuant to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, a federal program whichimmunizes (pun intended) pharmaceutical companies from suit, but substitutes a fund as an alternative. This is a relatively obscure and poorly understood program which, however, represents the only real recourse for those suffering injury from vaccines listed on the Vaccine Injury Table.

Charnell is admitted to practice in all South Carolina state courts as well as the United States District Court for South Carolina and the United States Supreme Court. Born in Columbia in 1955, Charnell is the son of Octavia Jacobs Peake and the late Collie Peake, Jr. He has been married to Cindy Davis Peake since 1979, and they have two children, Josh and Amanda. Josh Peake is married to Jennifer Bessinger Peake, and they have two children, Cameran Nicole and Caley Anne. Amanda Peake Glover is married to Benji Walker Glover, and they have three children, Hope Micah, Reagan Faith, and Caroline Brooke. Charnell attended Richland School District 2 schools, as did his wife and children, all of whom are graduates of Spring Valley High School. Charnell and Cindy continue to be active in the community while also staying involved in various mission projects with local to global outreach. He enjoys playing golf in his spare time and is an avid Gamecock football fan.
