About Sheila

Sheila Hatami graduated from Hofstra Law School in May, 2006. While at Hofstra, Ms. Hatami focused her studies and activities in the areas of labor and employment law and civil rights litigation. Ms. Hatami worked as a Research Editor for the Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal and as Business Manager for the Moot Court Association. She competed in the Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition and participated in the National Institute for Trial Advocacy Trial Techniques program. Ms. Hatami founded the American Constitutional Society at Hofstra and led the student group PRISM as President during 2004-05. She assisted Professor Joanna Grossman with research on same-sex marriage and sexual harassment.

Ms. Hatami had summer internship experiences with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the New York Litigation Department and Justice Rosalyn Richter of the New York County Supreme Court.

Ms. Hatami also had international exposure while at Hofstra. She participated in the Political Asylum Clinic and helped her client receive a grant of asylum. She studied Comparative Constitutional Law in Nice, France.

Prior to law school, Ms. Hatami excelled as a special education teacher at the elementary and high school levels in Austin, TX, where she relocated in 1997 after graduating from Boston University.
