Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I Settled a motorcycle accident case for my client who was retired, awarded over $800,000. Successfully defended a preacher against in two cases of alleged sexual abuse of a child over 12 years of age but under the age of 17; both cases resulted in not guilty verdicts

How did you build a successful practice?

I am a sole practitioner, have practiced for 49 years in the same area. Getting to know the people, the judges,their support personnel, their likes and dislikes, is a tremendous advantage in both jury and non- jury trials

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

3. Clients should look for an attorney who has experience, who is respected by his peers, and who deals directly with his clients, as opposed to "TV" lawyers.

I can provide some basic information. The vast majority of my cases begin with a phone consultation.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need a synopsis of the ""facts"" of the case, identities of the parties, the what, when, where, who & how of the controversy.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Having been a deputy sheriff , and an investigator, while going to law school and for a time afterwards, I do my own work, going to accident scenes, interviewing witnesses, examining pertinent document and evidence. I do not rely on others to do the grunt work, I enjoy doing it and it pays off when a client's case is to be tried or settled.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Winning.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Golf and motorcycle riding. I am a member of Greystone Golf club, host to the Champions Tour. I am also the attorney for the Alabama Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs--approximately 30 different clubs with approximately 5,000 members. I enjoy hunting, fishing and generally the outdoors.

Are you involved in your community?

My primary community involvement is with church. My Christian values permeate the way I practice law.
