Based on my experience, I believe the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice exists for the sake of receiving donations but not to actually help women and children who are victims of domestic violence. They only responded to me once I wrote a one-star review. I waited 6 weeks and received the court self help web link which I already knew about. Women and children, victims of domestic violence do not have real help out there. Most eventually become another statistic and a viral FB post. "Thanks" to organizations such as the "Los Angeles Center For Law & Justice" who claim to help them but send them out there to stand for themselves and face their abusers and their top-notch attorneys. Thank you for sending me the court self-help link. However. I am well aware of the court self-help and I am sure your organization is also very well aware that without an attorney, facing an abusive ex-husband and his top-notch attorney in court, my chance of being able to explain myself right and stand for my children, are very slim. Sadly, I am not surprised your organization is not willing to help me and my children. I have contacted numerous organizations in the past and at the end of the day, women like me are getting killed every day because there is no real help for us, just many organizations that thrive on donations. Violent abusive husbands with money are able to hire good attorneys to protect them and lie to the courts while women and children without financial means are left alone and with no help and often being murdered by their ex-husbands and fathers. If your organization can not help me, who do you help? I contacted your organization, twice and I did not get a response for a week. I then wrote a one-star review and as soon as I wrote the review, I was contacted and a zoom meeting with you was scheduled for 3 weeks ahead. It has been 6 weeks since I first contacted the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice for the first time and all I get is a web link to the court self-help (you did not even send the links you mention you are attaching, but don't even bother, I have lost hope I will ever get free help). I told you that my ex-husband is still being verbally abusive to me, that he has a history of threatening to kill me, kidnap our kids, and beating me up severely causing me life-threatening injuries. That he currently brainwashes our kids, does not follow our court orders and I need help. Why I and my children are not qualified to get help from your organization? One day I too will be a statistic.
Did my DACA 2 years ago here and the lawyer Mariliz helped me with my paper work. They where efficient, helpful, and resourceful. This place goes far and beyond with serving the community in legal services COMPARED to CHIRLA which was terrible.
