Mr. Korner is an aggressive and experienced trial attorney. He focuses his practice in the area of criminal law so he may better serve his clients. He began his career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Hillsboro, Missouri.

After gaining trial experience with the prosecutor's office, Mr. Korner began his criminal defense career with The Law Office of Carl Ward in Washington, Missouri. While there, Mr. Korner ran the law firm's general criminal practice where he became experienced in defending many different crimes in all parts of Missouri. Mr. Korner has practiced in over 25 counties, and more than 35 municipalities in the State of Missouri.

In July of 2008, he was invited to teach at a Continuing Legal Education seminar, where he was part of a team that taught over 150 Missouri attorneys how to properly take a DWI case to trial. Although still only a young man, Mr. Korner's skill and ambition have helped him represent each of his clients with the knowledge, experience and compassion it takes to be a successful trial attorney.

• Possession of Methamphetamine - Persistent Offender The police caught a man in possession of methamphetamine and after looking at his record determined that he was a persistent felony offender. The prosecutor in the case wanted to put the man in prison for 10 years. After his client plead guilty to the possession charge, Mr. Korner passionately represented the man at a contested sentencing hearing in front of the judge. The judge sentenced the man to serve only 7 days in jail and did not even place him on probation. Rape A woman accused her ex-boyfriend of rape after their relationship came to an end. Mr. Korner represented the man during the police investigation, including during the police interrogation of the man regarding the rape accusations. Mr. Korner also found and presented several pieces of evidence to the police during the investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation the prosecuting attorney refused to issue any charges. Conspiracy to Commit Murder A man was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder in Federal Court due to his ties with organized crime. After being confronted with an overwhelming amount of evidence including wiretaps and a confession, the man plead guilty. Although the recommended federal prison sentence was well over 10 years, Mr. Korner tirelessly worked the case and was able to secure a sentence of less than 4 years for his client. Conspiracy to Distribute Nearly 1,000 Pounds of Marijuana Federal agents raided a house in the City of St. Louis and found nearly 1,000 pounds of marijuana in the basement of the house. During the raid, a man was arrested fleeing from the backdoor of the house. The man admitted that he was one of several men who stayed at the house with the marijuana. Mr. Korner was hired to represent this man after another attorney was able to only reduce the recommended sentence in federal prison to between 3 and 4 years. Mr. Korner negotiated with the U.S. Attorney and fought zealously for his client at sentencing. The federal judge sentenced the man to only the time he had already served while awaiting sentencing. Statutory Sodomy - 1st Degree Description: Client charged with inappropriately touching his girlfriend's 3 year old daughter and was facing a possible life sentence. The client's girlfriend allegedly walked into a bedroom and witnessed the inappropriate touching. Jason Korner conducted multiple pretrial hearings where he cross-examined several key witnesses including the girlfriend. Outcome: Mr. Korner was successful in his pretrial attack of the witnesses in the case and just prior to the start of the scheduled jury trial the prosecutor dismissed all charges against the client. Felony DWI, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Use of a Weapon Description: Driver was traveling 120 mph on northbound I-270 in Town & Country. Driver was pulled over and, after admitting to drinking 5 drinks, he was arrested for his 3rd DWI and Felony Resisting Arrest for trying to evade the police. A search of the car located a gun, which added further criminal charges. Outcome: After filing and arguing several pretrial motions, Mr. Korner convinced the prosecutor to dismiss the felony DWI and the weapons charge. The resisting arrest was reduced to a misdemeanor. Felony DWI Description: Driver was pulled over, failed Field Sobriety Tests, and was arrested for his 3rd DWI, a felony in Missouri. After the arrest Driver had a 0.12% according to the breath test. Mr. Korner took over this case after another attorney had worked on it for a full year without any positive results. Outcome: Mr. Korner conducted depositions of the police officers involved, and based on the results of those depositions the prosecuting attorney amended the charge to a misdemeanor. Driver paid a fine and did not spend one day in jail or on probation.
