About Jody

Jody LeWitter has been an attorney in private practice since 1982. She represents plaintiffs in the area of employment litigation and advice, and is known for her vigorous advocacy of employees. She was lead counsel in Behne v. MicroTouch Inc., an employment fraud case in which the plaintiff was awarded what is believed to be the largest employment fraud verdict in California. The $2.64 million dollar award was upheld by the Ninth Circuit in 2001. She has handled substantial employment arbitrations. In 2003 she represented three African American employees in a race discrimination case in which the employees were awarded significant compensatory damages and a rare Arbitrator’s finding of malice, oppression and fraud, as required for an award of punitive damages. The total recovery exceeded $3.6 million dollars. In 2005 she represented the plaintiff in Miceli v Flowserve, an age discrimination/retaliation case, in which the Arbitrator awarded compensatory damages of $1.09 million dollars, plus interest and attorneys fees, and a finding of malice, oppression and fraud, as required for an award of punitive damages.

She is a partner with Siegel & LeWitter, a six attorney firm which exclusively represents plaintiffs in employment litigation, and trade unions.
