Mario attended Medical School at Ross University. In 1991, he graduated with honors from University Miami- Law School, in Coral Gables, FL. He has limited his practice to Workers Compensation and Personal injury cases because of his medical background. At the same time he enjoys fighting for injured workers. Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
In Workers Compensation the lawyer can make the biggest difference in cases where the injured worker's benefits have been denied. Many times employers think that the injured worker did get hurt and refuse to report the accident.
How did you build a successful practice?
Making a difference for the clients one at a time.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Competence. An attorney that does Workers Compensation should know within the first minutes what the client needs and where the case should go. With my medical knowledge I can also have a very good idea where the meds are going.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
The saying is that a good lawyer knows the law and a great attorney knows the Judge. It is good to know what it is that the judge is looking for.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
No two cases are alike. But, an attorney may provide the general information about the Law that allows the claimant to know what is required of them.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
The information is one of process. Most clients are scared of what is going to happen. The information provided should make them more at ease with the system
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I've been doing this a long time and have the knowledge as a doctor to know what the medicals are saying in a case.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Seeing a claimant be treated correctly by the system.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
History, medicine, archeology, orchids, fishing and hunting, SCUBA diving, and travel.
