John N. Satcher, II focuses his practice primarily on personal injury cases involving automobile, 18 wheeler, and motorcycle accidents as well as litigating wrongful death, medical malpractice, premise liability and product liability cases. John also works extensively in the areas of collection and debtor/creditor law. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Untied States District Court for the Northern & Southern Districts of Mississippi and all Mississippi State Courts. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, Mississippi Association for Justice, Mississippi Bar Association and Hinds County Bar Association.

Mr. Boyd completed his undergraduate studies at Mississippi College in 1981. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Mr. Boyd completed his legal education at Mississippi College School of Law in 1984. During law school, Mr. Boyd was selected to serve as a member of the Editorial Board of the Mississippi College Law Review, and he had a casenote selected for publication in the Fall1983 Law Review. Mr. Boyd is also a “graduate” of the 1996 MiniMed School seminar sponsored by the University Of Mississippi Medical Center. Mr. Boyd devotes most of his legal practice to personal injury and wrongful death claims including car wrecks, 18-wheeler/big truck wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, slip and fall injuries, and UM insurance claims (underinsured and uninsured auto insurance issues).

Our attorney, John Stevens, began his legal career after graduating from the Mississippi College School of Law in 1989. During his law school years, he served as chief justice on the Mississippi College Honor Court, as well as a staff member for the Mississippi College Law Review. John has been practicing law ever since, amassing nearly three decades of experience.

A veteran attorney with years of “big firm” experience, he has opened his own law practice to fight for the justice that every man and woman deserves. He has experience in all types of litigation including complex civil litigation, civil trial practice, criminal defense, domestic matters, and a wide range of other legal issues. A former law clerk for a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, he has handled cases across the state of Mississippi and in Washington D.C. With extensive experience in both trial and appellate courts, including and up to the United States Supreme Court, he has the experience, strength, and tenacity to fight for you. After graduating at the top of his class from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, Mr. Clanton served as a law clerk to the late Honorable David A. Nelson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Clanton’s prior professional experience includes tenure as a shareholder in a large, national AmLaw 200 law firm. He has also previously served as Chief Counsel to the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, where he acted as Chief Counsel advising both the Chairman and the Members of the Judiciary Committee on legislation and Congressional oversight, regulatory authority, civil and constitutional rights, Congressional authority, separation of powers, proposed constitutional amendments and oversight of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. While practicing with the law firm of Baker Donelson, he handled civil litigation in both Mississippi and Washington, D.C.

Shane was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he was educated at St. Aloysius High School. He later attended Millsaps College, before earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Shane began his law career as an associate attorney at Wilkins, Stephens & Tipton in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2003, Shane moved to Columbus, Mississippi, and began working at the Studdard Law Firm. Shane formed the Tompkins Law Firm in 2012 and today, primarily practices in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury and criminal defense. Professionally, Shane is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Mississippi Public Defender's Association. In addition, he has been the Lowndes County Bar Association President and is currently the Board Attorney for Golden Triangle Waste Services. Shane also serves as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Shane is married to Julie Pryse Tompkins. Shane and Julie have two sons, John and Jack. They reside in Columbus, Mississippi.

Courtney graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2006. She then graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in December 2008. Upon becoming a licensed attorney in 2009, she began her legal career by joining Markow Walker, P.A. Courtney primarily handles workers’ compensation matters, defending employers and carriers in countless claims before the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission, as well as, appeals to the Mississippi Court of Appeals. In addition, she regularly pursues subrogation recovery on behalf of her clients in state and federal courts throughout Mississippi. She tailors her defense handling of each claim to the preferences and needs of her client. Courtney represents a wide range of employers that span from small local businesses to large nationwide employers. Regardless of the size of the business, Courtney understands the importance of efficient claims handling, while also being thorough, to get a favorable result for her workers’ compensation clients. Courtney has been selected as a Rising Star and Top Rated Workers’ Compensation Attorney by Super Lawyers, and she has received an AV Preeminent Rating for the Highest Level of Professional Excellence from Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to providing continuing education to her clients, Courtney has been a guest lecturer on workers’ compensation issues at numerous seminars sponsored by the University of Mississippi School of Law and the National Business Institute. She volunteers her time as a guest judge for high school and college moot court competitions. Courtney resides in Madison, Mississippi, with her husband, Jamie, and their daughters, Cassidy and Clara. Courtney is a member of the Jackson-Metro Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi, and she enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family. Courtney is an active member at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, and she is very involved with her children’s school PTO.

Amy completed her undergraduate work at Mississippi University for Women, graduating in 1995 with a B.A. in English, with honors. While at the “W”, Amy was named the University’s first Eudora Welty Scholar. She received her juris doctor degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 1998 and was admitted to practice in the state of Mississippi. Her practice focuses mainly on workers’ compensation defense, representing employers and carriers in matters before the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission and pursuing subrogation recovery before circuit courts throughout the state, as well as estate matters. Amy was named one of the Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 in 2005 and the T. George Kelly volunteer of the year for her work with the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program of the Bar in 2016. For many years, Amy and her husband Derek have dedicated themselves to their non-profit youth baseball league, the Jackson Ninety-Sixer Baseball Club, assisting and providing access to athletics to disadvantaged youth. She was named NABF’s Woman of Year in 2004 for her dedication to youth baseball. She also currently serves on the St. Joseph Catholic School Advisory Council and is the Director of Youth Music at St. Paul Catholic Church, where she and her family have been parishioners for many years. Amy is the current chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Mississippi Bar and was recently selected by Thomas Reuters to author their Practical Law Guide to Mississippi Workers’ Compensation. She resides in Brandon with her husband, Derek, son, John, and daughter, Mary Lee.

Pepper, a native of Charleston, Mississippi, completed his undergraduate work at the University of Mississippi, where he received a B.B.A. He received his juris doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1989, and he was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. He practiced in Birmingham, Alabama, for 2 years representing title insurance companies, before moving to Jackson, Mississippi, in August 1991, where his practice consisted mainly of general civil litigation. Pepper joined Markow Walker, P.A., in 1993 and practices mainly in the workers’ compensation law division. He also works in the general liability division handling the defense of personal injury claims. Pepper has an AV ranking from Martindale Hubble. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, Defense Resource Institute, Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, the Madison County Bar Association, and the Alabama Bar Association, as well as being the Past-President of the Madison County Association. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Mississippi and Alabama. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Law Alumni Chapter of the University of Mississippi School of Law. He has served as a faculty member for various seminars on workers’ compensation including those sponsored by the National Business Institute, Lorman, Inc., and CISI. He is also an approved mediator for the Mississippi Bar’s Pilot Mediation Program for workers’ compensation cases. Pepper resides in Madison, and he has two children, Pepper, Jr., and AnnaLee. Pepper and his family attend Broadmoor Baptist Church. He enjoys outdoor activities, including hunting, skiing, golfing, and attending sporting events at his alma mater, the University of Mississippi.

Courtney is a native Mississippian, born and raised in Clarksdale. She attended the University of Mississippi and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007. During her undergraduate career, she was inducted into multiple academic societies, including Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. She was also awarded a Taylor Medal, the highest undergraduate academic award at the University. Courtney went on to attend the University of Mississippi School of Law. In 2010, she graduated cum laude. Courtney became licensed to practice law in the states of Mississippi and Tennessee later that same year. Courtney accepted a position in the Oxford office of Markow Walker, P.A., in April 2011. Courtney’s practice is dedicated to workers’ compensation defense, where she now has over 8 years of experience. Outside of work, Courtney enjoys instructing spin classes, traveling, and spending time with her family and husband, Kevin.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi, John attended the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he graduated in 2001. While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Mississippi Law Journal. John has been with Markow Walker, P.A., for over 18 years, and he is a shareholder in the firm’s Oxford office. His practice focuses primarily in the areas of civil litigation and workers’ compensation defense. He has worked extensively in matters involving medical malpractice, appellate work, mass tort, workers’ compensation, and various aspects of insurance defense in tort-related matters. He has lectured on specific topics involving subrogation and defense of employers and carriers in workers’ compensation. John is licensed to practice law in both Mississippi and Tennessee. John is a devoted fan of the Ole Miss Rebels, and he has served as the Vice President of the Ole Miss Quarterback Club. John and his wife, Kimberly, reside in Oxford and enjoy attending Ole Miss sporting events and are members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
