After years of legal work, attorney Brent Adams realized the area of law closest to his heart was representing ordinary, everyday people who had been hurt through no fault of their own. That’s why Brent Adams & Associates only represents people who suffered injuries as the result of someone else's wrongdoing – as well as the families of victims who suffered severe or fatal injuries. Attorney Adams has been active in the North Carolina legal community throughout his entire career as a trial lawyer and has been recognized by his peers as an outstanding attorney. He has an Avvo rating of 10 out of 10. His Avvo rating includes more than 15 peer endorsements and several client reviews. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an honor held by fewer than 1% of trial lawyers. He is also the author of several books, including: “The Truth About Medical Malpractice Claims,” “How to Get Top Dollars For Your Workers' Comp Claim” and “Ten Costly Mistakes That Can Wreck Your North Carolina Case.” Our office makes these books available to all injured persons, whether they are clients or not. He completed both his undergraduate and Juris Doctorate degrees at Wake Forest University School of Law. Ready to fight for clients Attorney Adams has served on the boards of the Wake County Bar Association and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, eventually elected Secretary-Treasurer and Vice President of each, respectively. He was chosen to serve as the State Representative to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the largest trial lawyer organization in the world. In an effort to share his knowledge with other attorneys, attorney Adams frequently lectures at trial lawyer groups. He has spoken at legal seminars sponsored by the North Carolina Bar Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Wake Forest University, The North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, as well as the prestigious Melvin M. Belli Seminar. Before concentrating on exclusively representing injured victims, Adams successfully represented banks, insurance companies and individuals on cases ranging from murder, rape, drugs and white collar criminal cases to lawsuits involving real estate, business contracts, bankruptcy and tax matters. A dedicated family man, attorney Brent Adams knows the importance of family and protecting the rights of our dearest friends and loved ones. He represents people, not banks, businesses or insurance companies. Attorney Adams is happy to put his experience to work for those who were injured because of something that wasn't their fault.

Gene Riddle is a founding member and managing partner of Riddle & Riddle Injury Lawyers, a law firm that employs 9 attorneys with over 160 years of combined legal experience. Gene is quick to stress his family’s deep North Carolina ties. A Stanly County native, he grew up in Aberdeen after moving from Albemarle. He has practiced law in North Carolina since September 1985. Gene’s parents were both educators. His father, a longtime superintendent of Moore County Schools, encouraged him to go to law school after college. Today, Gene believes honesty, integrity and willingness to work hard are the bedrock principles of a good attorney. That is what he and the other lawyers at Riddle & Riddle provide to their injured clients. However, he also continues to directly handle cases as the lead attorney and he touches most of the personal injury cases that come into the firm. Gene takes on cases that involve serious personal injury in car accidents, truck accidents, dog bites, premises liability, wrongful death and violations of Constitutional Rights. In every case, Gene’s objective is obtaining an outcome that his client believes is fair. Riddle & Riddle Injury Lawyers serve in surrounding areas of North Carolina, including Raleigh, Greensboro, Durham, Charlotte, and more. “The client’s goals are most important,” he says. “That has to be measured by what’s reasonable and what’s fair. Our guiding star is fairness. We’re about fairness. Justice counts.” Gene’s legal accomplishments have earned him several professional honors from his legal peers, including the 2014 Litigator Award. He also has a high AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell as well as designation among the Best Attorneys of America and the American Trial Lawyers Association’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers. Nathan has represented individuals accused of criminal offenses ranging from minor speeding tickets to capital murder since 2003. Although the consequences and strategies differ in each case, his approach remains the same. In order for the client-lawyer relationship to be successful, there must actually be a relationship. It must be a relationship where the client feels comfortable and confident that their lawyer truly cares about their case. Secondly, there is no substitute for preparation. There is no consistent way for an attorney to reach the best possible result unless he takes the time and steps necessary to be fully prepared in each and every case. Finally, an attorney must be open to negotiating, but willing and able to aggressively litigate for his client. Nathan uses this approach to reach the best possible result for his clients. Nathan is a native of Western North Carolina and a graduate of Western Carolina University. He earned his law degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. While in law school, he was chosen to intern with the 30th District Attorney’s Office as well as one of Virginia Beach’s largest and most respected criminal defense firms. Upon graduation, he moved back home and for nine years worked with Melrose, Seago & Lay, P.A., where he was a partner for five years. After meeting attorney David Moore and recognizing similar commitment to client values, Earwood and Moore, P.A. was opened with a vision of being known for knowledgeable, well-prepared, and aggressive client representation. Over the next five years, the firm grew aggressively to five lawyers and three offices. In 2017, Nathan, in an effort to have firm entirely committed to providing reliable and quality criminal defense representation, Nathan branched off to form the Law Office of Nathan Earwood. Nathan doesn’t dabble in criminal defense, this is all he does and he thoroughly enjoys finding solutions to difficult situations and protecting individual rights. Nathan is a skilled trial lawyer in the courtroom but has a calming and comforting demeanor in the office, where he can clearly explain the most complex legal situation with his clients. Nathan is active in his community, church, coaching youth sports, and legal organizations and has served on various boards including the Criminal Justice Partnership Program and the Salvation Army. He is a past or present member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers, North Carolina Bar Association, Advocates for Justice, Young Trial Lawyers Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and more. Nathan has represented several individuals throughout western North Carolina charged with first-degree murder and has attended the “Capital College” in Raleigh, NC. Nathan’s trial experience is second to none, having tried the most serious of cases including first-degree murder and rape. Each year, Nathan attends multiple continuing education courses devoted to innovative ways to better represent those accused of crimes. Nathan prides himself on being a “student of the law,” keeping current on the most recent Court of Appeals and Supreme Court opinions relating to his practice. Nathan has also worked on post-conviction cases throughout his career and received relief from the Court in State v. Chapman, 18 N.C. App. 378 (2007) and a new trial in State v. Webb, 197 N.C. App. 619 (2009) Nathan lives in Waynesville with his wife, the Honorable Kristina Earwood, a District Court Judge, and their two wonderful children.
