He was a four-year letter winner on the University’s baseball team, being named a team captain during his senior season. Mike then joined Matt and Tim at Duquesne University school of Law, where he received the CALI Excellence For the Future Award in legal research and writing. Following graduation from Duquesne Law, Mike joined a law firm in downtown Pittsburgh, representing employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters. A technology enthusiast with the heart & mind of a criminal defense lawyer - an antihero in every sense of the word. In the spirit of going "against the grain," I'd like to start with some personal, non-professional background. My hobbies include collecting sports memorabilia, spending far too many hours playing PC games & watching (and re-watching) tons of movies/TV shows. Among my favorite movies are The Godfather, The Departed, Goodfellas, Casino, The Dark Knight, Sin City, The Punisher, Tombstone, A Bronx Tale, The Devil's Advocate, and so on and so forth. Favorite TV shows include Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, Homeland, Newsroom, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, and Game of Thrones. My hidden talent = pop culture trivia. I have a disturbing ability to recall obscure movie trivia, quotes, and Now, for the boring stuff! Growing up in the hills of southeast KY - an area that is known for many things, least of all technology - technology was (and is) scarce and far behind. At 10 years old, my fascination with technology began - my first computer. Dial-up internet was still new(ish) but once I discovered "the internet" a symbiotic bond formed & continues to grow to this day. I have been a loyal & dedicated advocate of all things technology since before the internet became the god-child that it is today. In 7th grade, I decided to be a lawyer. Thus, I have been on a crash course for the nexus of law & technology since long ago. My formal studies of criminal law began in college with coursework including Criminal Investigations, White Collar Crime, Drugs, Crime & Society, and Organized Crime. This time cemented my future -- there was no other career for me than being a defense attorney. I structured my studies & extracurriculars around the realm of criminal law. During law school, I worked briefly for an intellectual property/patent/trademark attorney. Then, I worked for a small Jacksonville firm whose primary area of practice is criminal defense. I graduated in May 2014 from Florida Coastal School of Law and was admitted to the KY Bar in September 2014. tidbits that have no business occupying a part of one's memory.

Corey Pollard is the managing partner of Jenkins Block & Associates‘ Richmond office and heads the Virginia Workers’ Compensation department of the firm. Mr. Pollard focuses his practice on representing individuals who have suffered injuries at work or through the fault of others, including car accident, motorcycle wreck, construction accident, medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. And when these personal injuries and other medical conditions lead to problems in the workplace or permanent health impairments, Mr. Pollard helps individuals obtain the monetary awards they deserve through state and federal employment law and Social Security Disability. Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Mr. Pollard grew up in a construction family. A graduate of Menchville High School, where he was a Virginia High School League (VHSL) State Champion in Swimming, Mr. Pollard earned his Bachelor’s Degree with honors from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. While in college, Mr. Pollard was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity. Mr. Pollard obtained his J.D. with honors from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Pollard was selected as a member of the Richmond Journal of Law and the Public and Interest. He was also selected as member of the school’s Client Counseling & Negotiation Board after winning the Environmental Negotiation Competition in 2007. Prior to joining Jenkins Block & Associates, Mr. Pollard worked as an insurance defense attorney where he gained valuable experience and training while representing many of the nation’s largest employers and insurance carriers. Now he uses that experience to represent individuals who sustained personal injuries and disability and to fight back against insurance companies and their tactics. Mr. Pollard’s wife, Leigh, is a Human Resources Manager who provides “real world” advice and insight on employment and labor law matters. The Pollards have two children, Knox and Rivers, who keep them busy and running around, and a 5-pound dog named Simba. They are members of Bon Air Baptist Church. In his spare time, Mr. Pollard enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, and playing pickup basketball and golf.
