I am a twelve-year Veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired 20-year law enforcement professional. Over the course of my police career, I served in three Colorado agencies and have extensive training in criminal investigations, traffic violations, DUIs, and standardized field sobriety testing (the "roadside maneuvers"). I have worked as a member of the Motorcycle Traffic Unit, as a Technical Accident Reconstructionist, as a Patrol Sergeant, a firearms and tactics instructor, have made countless DUI and criminal arrests, and conducted hundreds of investigations. After graduating from law school, I worked for a prominent criminal defense firm on felony and misdemeanor cases and as a prosecutor before opening my own practice. I use my extensive training and real-world experience to safeguard the rights of the accused and protect those wrongly charged. I know the criminal justice system from the inside out which means I work for my clients from a position of knowledge and strength.

Attorney Jim Vieh earned his undergraduate degree, cum laude, in Government from Harvard. He earned his law degree, as well as an MBA in Finance, from Cornell University. After graduation, he worked for a prominent Phoenix civil litigation firm practicing insurance defense in civil litigation and auto accident cases. He opened his own practice in 1982 & has focused on personal injury and commercial litigation, with additional emphasis on civil litigation & automobile cases. Over the years, his practice has expanded to the areas of business, real estate and commercial litigation. Mr. Vieh is an AV Rated attorney and is admitted to practice before the Arizona State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and the Arizona State Bar and serves as a judge pro tem on the Maricopa County Superior Court. Alan C. Shafner was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Colorado with Distinction in 1975, and received his law degree from The Houston College of Law, Houston, Texas in 1978. After graduating from law school, Alan was a trial attorney for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in Golden, Colorado from 1979 through June 1983. During this time, Alan was the lead prosecutor on several high profile felony cases, including murder and sexual assault cases. In 1983, Alan joined the law firm of Fogel, Keating and Wagner as an associate, and later became a named partner. After 28 successful years, Alan opened his own personal injury law firm. In 2011, The Law Offices of Alan C. Shafner was formed, serving a variety of personal injury litigation cases.
