As a native of St. Charles County, Eric was born and raised in the Wentzville area. He attended St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, MO. Eric attended college at Furman University in South Carolina where he obtained his bachelor degree in Business Administration. While a player on Furman’s baseball team, he was named to the all-conference tournament team and made the Dean’s list for academic excellence. At Furman, Eric also became a member of the largest international fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon. Upon graduation from Furman, Eric returned to the Show-Me State to attend law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received the Cali Excellence for the Future Award before graduating with his Juris-Doctorate. Eric gained experience with internships at two different law firms and worked at the Attorney General’s Office. Upon passing the Missouri Bar Exam, Eric returned to St. Charles County to become an assistant prosecuting attorney. The trial experience and understanding of the court systems he gained during this time were building blocks that helped catapult his highly successful career as a criminal defense trial lawyer. Attorney Bruce Kaye’s claim to fame was being selected to work as a law clerk to the legendary trial attorney Joe Jamail (Pennzoil v. Texaco, Top 10 Trial Attorney in the USA). Prior to law school, Bruce played the keyboards professionally all over Houston. Some key parties included President Bill Clinton, former Houston Mayors Bob Lanier and Annise Parker, Ambassador Arthur Schechter, and many different judges’ campaigns (both criminal and civil). Upon graduation from law school in Houston, Texas in 1992, Bruce opened up his own practice concentrating primarily on Criminal Law (trial and appeals for Federal and State courts), Entertainment Law and Non-Subscriber Work Place Injuries. Several members had been charged in Federal Court in Dallas with bank fraud. After a month long trial, Mr. Banker’s client was the only one of the nine defendants found "not guilty". Another case involved the owner of a bus company, whose bus caught on fire when evacuating the Houston area because if Hurricane Rita. More than a dozen elderly people were killed in the accident. Mr. Banker’s client was charged in Federal Court in McAllen with several counts involving the operation of his buses. He was found “not guilty” of the felony charges that could have put him in prison for up to ten years, and given probation for two minor misdemeanors. On a personal note, Mr. Banker has been happily married to his wife Rose for over 20 years, and he has been actively involved in the lives of their children, Stevan, Faith and Joshua. They are members of Christ Family Church, where Mr. Banker teaches Sunday school and has been active in leadership for many years.
