Matthew began working in the field of Estate Planning immediately out of law school because he knew that this field was going to allow him help people in a way that would positively impact the remainder of their lives. As his practice in Estate Planning grew, so did his love for the area of law and his expertise in the field. He has now assisted countless individuals and families of all financial backgrounds protect their hard-earned assets through estate planning techniques. After a few years of practice, Matthew discovered his passion for the field of Personal Injury. Matthew realized that practicing Personal Injury combined his passion for helping individuals and for client advocacy. When individuals and corporations will not do what it right, Matthew steps in to protect the rights of individuals who stand to lose everything. He is a zealous advocate for his clients in court and has completed numerous successful jury trials. Matthew is a graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Whittier Law School. Matt is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Nevada and the California State Bar Association. Matt is admitted to practice before all District Courts in the State of Nevada, the U.S. Federal District Court for the District of Nevada, the District Courts in the State of California, the U.S. Federal District Court for the District of California, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Colleen Van Egmond is an accomplished lawyer that has extensive legal experience in business planning, business litigation, estate planning, estate litigation, probates, employment law, agriculture law, along with accident and injuries. She has worked for such law firms as Thayer Harvey Gregerson Hedberg & Jackson along with Curtis & Arata prior to becoming the managing partner with Arata Swingle Van Egmond & Goodwin. In addition to her legal experience, she is currently active in different associations such as Association of Defense Council, Stanislaus County Bar Association and the Children's Crisis Center. Colleen Van Egmond graduated from the McGeorge School of Law with an honors in taxation and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. In addition to her legal degree, Ms. Van Egmond has a B.S. in Managerial Economics and a A.S. in Agriculture Business.

Spencer Golden is an associate at K/S Attorneys at Law who handles legal matters in the area of criminal law, tax controversy, tax planning, business structuring/planning, asset protection, estate planning, probate, bankruptcy, and real estate representing individuals and their businesses.

Vania is a Chesapeake native and a graduate of Great Bridge High school. Vania went on to graduate from Francis Marion University with a BA in Political Science and Professional Writing. She obtained her law degree from the University of Richmond, TC Williams School of Law in 2001. During law school Vania interned at Virginia Legal Aid and the Chesapeake Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office. After graduation, she worked for a small firm practicing family law and estate planning before she moved onto the Virginia Beach and Chesapeake Public Defender’s offices. Thereafter she returned to private practice to focus on estate planning. Vania has been very active in the local autism community, having served as president of the Autism Society of Tidewater and as a board member of Project Lifesaver Virginia Beach. She is currently the president of the Southeastern Elementary School PTA. Vania is the proud mother of four, and lives in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake with her children and two rescue dogs.

Carolyn Kenton founded Kenton Elder Law to continue her work with legal issues of the older client. A former partner in Bluegrass Elderlaw PLLC and a respected authority on elder law, Ms. Kenton frequently speaks to groups on the subjects of elder law, lifetime planning documents such as powers of attorney, guardianships, asset management, estate and Medicaid asset preservation planning, and the probate process. She is co-author of Kentucky Elder Law, 2018 ed. (Vol. 23, Kentucky Practice Series) published by West as well as many monographs on probate, estate settlement and Medicaid planning. Ms. Kenton is a former State Representative and a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned her BA, MA and JD degrees. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Associations Elder Law Section. She intends to focus her efforts toward helping middle income families make a seamless transition from generation to generation.

In 1995 Justin received his Associates degree from Dixie College in St. George, Utah. While at Dixie, Justin competed on the National Debate and Forensics circuit. Justin placed in the top three nationally in multiple events and was the recipient of the Bowler award granted annually to the top orator at the School. Following his success at Dixie College Justin went to Southern Utah University and received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science.In 2000 Justin received his Juris Doctor from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. His extensive training in area of public speaking has assisted him as he heads the litigation section of the law firm. Justin's litigation experience has been acquired through his representation of clients in front of numerous tribunals, administrative bodies, and courts. Several such forums of note are the United Nations High Commission on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland, the New Mexico Supreme Court, Multiple appellate courts, and differing state courts ranging from New Jersey, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Alaska, and California. Additionally, Justin has extensive training in estate planning matters which extends his responsibilities to our firm's estate planning division. Justin also has enjoyed substantial success in Securities litigation and Business formation. His most notable case in this arena was a judgment of over eight million dollars ($8,000,000.00) awarded by a securities arbitration panel in favor of our client. At the time this was the largest settlement ever awarded in securities arbitration. Recently, Justin was the lead attorney in the case against Provo city regarding the 911 call where EMS personnel were improperly dispatched. Our clients received a settlement of $220,000.  Justin has assisted in teaching numerous CLE courses in computerized legal research.Justin was born and raised in Utah. He is the proud father of 4 children and has been happily married for over ten years. He enjoys many sports including basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, and football. He is an avid off-roader that loves to hunt and fish. Recently he bagged an Alaskan caribou that scored 380+ on the Boone and Crocket scale and also caught a 62 pound Halibut off the coast of Oregon.
