TN State Lawyer Additional Information: Biography: Mr. Catron received a BA degree from Western Kentucky University in 1971 and a JD from the University of Mississippi (“Ole Missâ€ï¿½) School of Law in 1974. His law practice began in 1974 and continued until his medical retirement in 2004 as a result of advanced cardiovascular issues. Mr. Catron’s law practice was focused on corporate, banking, public finance matters and business litigation. Steve has been involved from virtually every perspective in planning and implementing client related business projects, contract negotiation, banking, zoning, real estate acquisitions and sales, real estate development, transactions involving both public and private financing. He served on the drafting committees Kentucky Model Business Corporation Act, the Kentucky Blue Sky Law and revisions to the zoning and land use planning provisions of the Kentucky Revised Statutes. Catron also has been active in many public projects having served as chair of the Bowling Green-Warren County, Kentucky Industrial Development Authority, as vice chair of the Kentucky Educational Television Authority (KET), Chair of the Kentucky Post Secondary Education Nominating Commission, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Western Kentucky University Foundation and a member of the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents. He also was a long-standing member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association and was president of the Kentucky Bar Association in 2002-2003. After retiring in 2004 he and his family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. He is a member of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Knoxville.
