QUESTIONNAIRE
We had a Social Security disability case that other lawyers had turned away because there were issues in the case that would make it difficult for the client to be successful in obtaining their disability benefits. Specifically, they had income after their disability onset date. Fortunately they contacted us and we were able to thoroughly look into their case. After reviewing the facts of their case and doing some legal research, we successfully helped them win their case without amending the disability onset date. Not only did they win their case, they received considerably more backpay.
How did you build a successful practice?We built a successful practice through hard work and dedication to our clients. Word of mouth took care of the rest. The attorneys provides the client the personal attention they need and deserve.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?Every client should look for an attorney who actually cares about people. It is important for the client to find an attorney that will take the time to discuss issues with them and help provide them legal insight into their own case. Clients should expect for the attorney to educate them about the relevant parts of the law that has bearing on their case, so that they will be best informed and can then make intelligent decisions on how to proceed with their case.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?It is very important for attorneys (and clients) to have knowledge about the judges/courts whom they will appear before. Sometimes this can mean the difference between winning or losing a case. The chances of success greatly improve when a client is represented by an attorney that has built a strong rapport with the local judges, and knows them more than just "Your Honor."
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?Oftentimes a free phone consultation can possibly help one to learn if they have a viable case. Other times it can even help a client with a viable case determine whether to proceed at all. Most often prospective clients learn about deadlines that must be met to have a claim, and what the next steps are in their given situation. It is most important that clients call as soon as possible to discuss their case.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?The most rewarding aspect of being an attorney is changing people's lives for the better. It is highly rewarding to be able to help people in their time of need. It is an honor.
