Michael was born and raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He subsequently earned undergraduate degrees from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Mississippi College, before earning his juris doctor degree from Mississippi College in 1997. Michael began and continues his legal career with Markow Walker, with over twenty (20) years of experience, with the majority of his practice being dedicated to defending employers, carriers, self-insureds and third party administrators in workers’ compensation matters in Mississippi. He has also been bestowed a Preeminent AV rating through Martindale-Hubbell, as determined by his professional peers. Michael is active in the professional community and is a member of Madison County Bar Association, Mississippi Association of Self Insurers, Home Builders Association of Mississippi, and National Association of Home Builders. Michael has been married to his wife, Ann, for more than twenty (20) years, and they have two (2) children, Peyton and Brayden. Michael and his family spend a lot of time at sporting events for the children and church activities at Broadmoor Baptist Church. He also enjoys yard work, hunting, fishing, golf, and almost any activity outside.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi, Phillip went on to attend the University of Mississippi School of Law. Phillip began his legal career when he joined Markow Walker, P.A., in 2001. He primarily devotes his practice to workers’ compensation defense. He is rated AV preeminent for the Highest Level of Professional Excellence by Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized by Best Lawyers for 2018 and 2019. Phillip and his wife, Margaret Blake, reside in Oxford, Mississippi, and have three children, Caldwell, Tom, and Charles. Phillip and his family are members of First Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his children and listening to Van Morrison. Phillip and Tom love cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels and Kansas City Chiefs.

Zakia Butler-Chamberlain is an Associate Attorney at Singleton Schreiber, where she brings a wealth of experience to our Personal Injury, Mass Torts & Environmental Litigation practice groups. Ms. Chamberlain is a native of Pocahontas, Mississippi and a lifelong resident of the state. Prior to joining Singleton Schreiber, Ms. Chamberlain began her legal career as junior staff attorney for a Standing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee. Ms. Chamberlain went on to serve as a law clerk for the Hon. Latrice Westbrooks on the Mississippi Court of Appeals. After her court experience, Ms. Chamberlain joined the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office as a Special Assistant Attorney General, where she represented the State of Mississippi in felony criminal appeals. Ms. Chamberlain most recently served as a Staff Attorney at the Office of the State Public Defender in Jackson, MS, where she represented indigent clients on direct appeals from felony criminal convictions. Ms. Chamberlain graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law, after attaining a bachelor's degree in biology from Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS. She is an active member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Magnolia Bar Association, Mississippi Public Defenders Association, Mississippi Association for Justice and the Charles Clark Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Ms. Chamberlain is barred and licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi.

Wes Fulgham serves as Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber and is part of the personal injury group. With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Fulgham has a proven track record in litigating a diverse range of cases from inception to trial, including personal injury, wrongful death, trucking litigation, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, worker’s compensation, product liability, and insurance bad faith. Wes started in private practice at an insurance defense firm, though he soon discovered that his passion and future path was in the representation of individuals and small businesses rather than large corporations. Mr. Fulgham's extensive career spans multiple nationally recognized plaintiffs’ firms, where he has expertly managed cases with integrity from initial contact through to the most favorable resolution for his clients. His practice has been focused in the areas of medical negligence and wrongful death, as well as medical devices and pharmaceutical products. One of his landmark cases resulted in a precedent-setting decision in Mississippi wrongful death law, Dooley v. Byrd, which clarified the right of wrongful death claimants to have their case tried by their chosen attorney, rather than through counsel chosen by another heir. Wes argued before the Mississippi Supreme Court that the trial court had unfairly prejudiced his clients’ case, resulting in success on appeal for the family. Wes has represented clients throughout Mississippi, and in Alabama and Tennessee, and has recovered millions of dollars for patients and families who have received negligent medical treatment from hospitals, physicians, surgeons, and nurses who have failed to meet the duty owed to those in their care. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Fulgham honed his skills at the nationally renowned trial firm Bullock Ward Mason and his own practice, Fulgham Law. A longtime Mississippi resident, he holds two Bachelor's degrees and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi and a Master's degree from Mississippi State University. Wes resides and attends church in the Jackson, Mississippi, area and enjoys traveling, boating, coaching, and camping with his three children, Will, Nate, and Sophie.
