Born and raised in Port Orange, Florida, Attorney Jakob Uzzle has dedicated his entire legal career to practicing workers’ compensation law in Central Florida. His deep roots in the community and personal experience working in various local industries give him unique insight into the challenges that injured workers face after a work-related accident. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, Jakob expanded his horizons by working as a robotic technician in the automotive industry in Auburn Hills, Michigan. During this time, he collaborated with major automotive manufacturers across the country, gaining valuable technical experience and a strong work ethic. Driven by a passion for justice, Jakob returned to Florida to pursue a legal career. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Florida A&M College of Law. While at FAMU, he distinguished himself as the Executive Editor for the Florida A&M University Law Review, consistently made the Dean’s List, and received academic scholarships along with two prestigious book awards. Jakob began his legal journey defending insurance companies and employers in workers’ compensation claims. This experience provided him with invaluable insider knowledge of the insurance industry. In 2024, he joined Rue & Ziffra, where he now leverages his background to fight tirelessly for the rights of injured workers throughout Florida. When he’s not advocating for his clients, Jakob enjoys spending quality time with his children. With over 25 years of experience, Wayne started out representing insurance companies as defense counsel. The insight he gained enabled him to advocate effectively on behalf of the injured parties with valid claims against insurance companies, other companies or individuals. Since 1993 he has represented "plaintiffs only" in personal injury, workers' compensation, disability, and wrongful termination/discrimination/retaliation cases. Attorney Bilsky graduated from the University of Florida with a BS/BA in Finance in 1986. He graduated from Law School at the University of Florida in 1989. While in session in Law School, Mr. Bilsky interned for a plaintiff's firm, specializing in Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation cases. Each summer break during law school, Mr. Bilsky worked in Orlando at different law firms, specializing in Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury.

In a nutshell, my passion has always been in public service. At the age of 18 I was working my first job as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for the City of New Chicago, Indiana. I was only on the job for 6 months, when I was in the back of an ambulance delivering a baby. I went on to become a police officer in New Chicago; and after battling frost bite for a few years, I accepted a position as Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. During my time there I was assigned to the Patrol Division, Fugitive Division and Tourist Policing Division; I received numerous awards and honors, which I am very proud of today. I met a young woman recently at a hospital where a careless driver caused her to lose her unborn baby. The careless driver was clearly at fault, the insurance company for the careless driver never offered an apology or offered money to help with any medical bills. They only called and asked permission to inspect her car to make sure she was somehow not at fault for the accident. I met a husband and wife not long ago who were badly injured in a car accident. Their car was totaled and they were both out of work. The insurance company refused to pay for a rental car even though the accident was clearly not their fault. I talk with mothers and fathers, nurses and teachers, construction workers and police officers, people from all walks of life everyday who have been injured at no fault of their own– people who are looking for justice, fairness and help for the challenges they face each day after an accident. In each of these conversations I’m reminded why I became a trial attorney: Everyday injury and accident victims need and deserve a champion, and I would be honored to be that champion for you!

I have been representing employees and employers in work related issues for more than 20 years. I have litigated cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as before numerous administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Relations, the Florida Department of Administrative Hearings, the National Labor Relations Board and civil service boards in numerous cities, counties and law enforcement agencies in Florida. I am licensed to practice before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U. S. Supreme Court, as well as federal trial courts in Florida. I have handled a wide variety of employment law cases, including those involving discrimination based on age, race, disability, gender, national origin, sexual harassment, retaliation, medical leave disputes, minimum wage and overtime issues, and non-compete agreements. I have drafted employee handbooks, employment agreements, and have litigated non-compete cases. I have counseled both employees and employers on all types of workplace disputes, including those involving discipline and termination. I served as the Legislative Chair for the Volusia chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, and have lobbied for work related legislation in Tallahassee. I have represented large corporations and small businesses, as well as individual employees. I have represented employees and employers for various government agencies, including local school districts, cities and counties, and universities. My goal is to provide the highest quality representation at a reasonable cost.
