The traditional stereotype of divorce for many Florida
residents is an extended courtroom drama, much like they see on reality
television programs. Unfortunately, that is far from the reality of what
couples experience if they are able to put aside their differences and work
together to create an agreement that is fair to both parties. Florida couples
who opt for divorce mediation can experience a dignified and amicable end to
their marriage.
Though there may be much pain and resentment when a marriage
comes to an end, holding on to such feelings is destructive to both parties,
not to mention the children of the marriage. How the couple deals with the
divorce process can help them feel good about their settlement and move on with
their lives.
Showing maturity throughout the divorce process is
especially important for the couple to demonstrate to their children. They can
learn that although formal relationships do end, the people in those
relationships can still show themselves to be kindhearted and civil to one
another. Who gets the car and who gets the furniture becomes less important
when the couple considers the future of their children.
To create a plan that will help a divorced couple co-parent
their children and deal with any conflicts that may arise in the future, a
divorce mediator can be of great help. If both parties can put their
disagreements aside to work through the mediation process, they may both walk
away from the divorce as friends. With the lives of their children hanging in
the balance, that is indeed something that couples contemplating divorce should
consider.
