Pete grew up in Oklahoma and obtained his BSE in Civil Engineering at Princeton University. He received his J.D in 1989 from Georgetown Law Center and returned to the Bay Area, where he'd previously worked at Hewlett Packard, to practice law. Pete has practiced law in California's state and federal courts since 1989. Prior to opening Shearer Law Offices in 1998 to concentrate on employment, real estate, and intellectual property law, he was an associate with reputable firms including Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati and Cooley, Godward (now Cooley LLP) in Palo Alto. He and former colleague Andrew Pierce merged firms to form Pierce & Shearer LLP in 2001. Pete also had worked with the Special Masters of Griffiths and Castle on complex real estate matters. Since 1998, Pete has guest lectured on legal issues at both U.C. Berkeley and Caรฑada College. Pete resides in San Mateo and is a long time soccer coach, theater performer, and avid baseball fan.
