MA TN State Lawyer Additional Information: Bio: Professor Heminway brought nearly 15 years of business finance and governance practice experience when she joined the faculty of the UT College of Law in 2000. She was an attorney in the Boston office of the firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP from 1985 through 2000 working in the areas of public offerings, private placements, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings. She teaches primarily in the areas of corporate governance, corporate finance, and securities regulation. She has served as an expert witness and consultant on business finance and governance issues, as well as federal and state securities law matters, and is a frequent continuing legal education presenter on business law issues. She is Chair-Elect of the Executive Committee of the TBA Business Law Section and is a former Chair of the Corporate Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the Boston Bar Association. Professor Heminway also has represented clients pro bono on political asylum applications, landlord/tenant appeals, social security/disability cases, and not-for-profit incorporations and related business law issues. She is a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and a regular yoga practitioner.
