The individual who referred the child should notify the parents, although screenings may be conducted at preschools and in the community without parental permission. However, the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) cannot proceed with an evaluation unless the parents provide consent. Parents have the authority to accept or decline any services that may be recommended. Furthermore, information obtained through the Child Find process will not be disclosed to other governmental or private agencies unless authorized by the parents.
