Family Involvement in the Intervention Process
Parents, guardians, and families play an essential role in supporting their schools and students. When families are actively involved in their children’s education, the students clearly benefit. In addition to informing parents about the SRBI process, schools must promptly communicate any concerns regarding their child's behavior, social-emotional well-being, and academic performance. Moreover, ongoing updates about student progress should be shared with families. Throughout the intervention process, it is crucial to engage parents and invite them to share their insights regarding their child's learning and behavior. Families provide valuable and unique information that school personnel can use to determine appropriate tiered interventions within the SRBI framework. Families should be actively involved in progress monitoring activities, and districts have a responsibility to supply families with clear and comprehensible information and data about their child's progress.
