Summary: Glade Run Lutheran Services, a non-profit psychiatric residential treatment facility for children with mental health issues, had its license revoked in October 2015 after the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) received a report of sexual abuse.

Glade Run Lutheran Services, a non-profit psychiatric residential treatment facility for children with mental health issues, had its license revoked in October 2015 after the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) received a report via its ChildLine reporting hotline of sexual abuse among the children housed in one of the cottages on its Zelienople campus. Inspections by DHS at the facility revealed numerous violations including inadequate supervision of children, failed policy and procedure implementation, staff members sleeping during their overnight shifts and insufficient staffing levels. These violations led to a system of sexual abuse and misconduct that occurred at Glade Run from March through July of 2015, according to DHS.

Although no criminal charges were filed and Glade Run's license was ultimately restored, Glade Run may be required to compensate victims for the sexual abuse and misconduct that occurred between March and July 2015.

I take great pride in fighting for our children's rights and for their safety and well-being. I am proud to have successfully handled a claim on behalf of one of the children who was victimized in this unfortunate and unspeakable tragedy.
