How to Request IEP Facilitation

IEP facilitation can be requested by the parent of a special education student or a member of school district staff. A facilitated IEP meeting can be requested at any time. Reach out to your child's school to find out if IEP facilitation is offered. Additionally, you can contact your State Education Agency (SEA) or a parent center for details on the availability and use of IEP meeting facilitators in your region. Facilitators may be chosen at random or according to some neutral rotation, but parents and schools may also select a facilitator together.
