Typically, a school-age child (3-21 years old) undergoes an evaluation at school, though it could also occur in a different community environment. Children already enrolled in public school are directed to a school-based team. This team devises and executes strategies to support the child's success in the school environment before initiating a formal evaluation request. Infants and toddlers (0-36 months old) are typically evaluated at home or in another community setting.
