Know your Rights
For employment discrimination cases, whistle blower lawsuits, or wrongful discharge claims, the more an employee know about their rights, the more they can protect themselves at the work place, and in the event they suffer an adverse action later like losing their job.
Three important matters employees should keep in mind. First every employee should know that they have the right to review their employment file to make sure nothing is placed in there without being notified. Second, documentation by letters, emails and faxes can become the best friend for an employee if he or she is later wrongfully accused of something or terminated. Third it is critical to always try to get a clear understanding of what the employer expects of you so when you fulfill these expectations, you can later prove that you performed satisfactorily.
Knowledge is Power and being armed with such power puts an employee in a stronger position to themselves.
