After carefully considering all of the information available, there are two conclusions that a Planning and Placement Team (PPT) may come to in regards to a child’s special education eligibility. First, the PPT may conclude that an assessment is unnecessary, affirming that the general education curriculum and support services adequately meet the child's needs. Alternatively, if the PPT determines that additional information is required to ascertain whether the child meets the criteria for having a disability and requires specialized educational interventions, then the team will proceed with planning the initial evaluation process. This evaluation aims to gather comprehensive data to make an informed decision about the child's educational needs.
