Attorney Sharon R. Mulyk is pleased to announce her candidacy for the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) Board of Governors seat for DuPage County (18th Judicial Circuit). Mulyk is licensed to practice law throughout the state of Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Supreme Court and the state of Wisconsin.

“I greatly appreciate the support I have received for my campaign thus far. I have worked diligently to build relationships within the Illinois State Bar Association for the benefit of DuPage County. I want to continue to cultivate those relationships and keep a strong DuPage voice present at the state level,” says Mulyk.

Mulyk is a founding partner of the DuPage County family law firm Mulyk, Laho & Mack, LLC where she concentrates her practice on family law and collections. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Illinois State University in 1996 and her Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in 2000.

Mulyk’s longtime commitment to the ISBA is supported through the various committee and leadership positions she has held within the association. She is a member of the ISBA Assembly, Family Law Section Council and Budget & Audit Committee and has served as a Delegate to the ABA, Associate Counsel, Family Law Committee Chair, Membership Committee Chair, Judiciary Committee Member, Planning Committee Member, Rules Revision Committee Member, Pro-Se Litigant Committee Member, CLE Committee, Member, Judicial Intervention Leader, and ISCCPL Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentor.

Mulyk has also held several prominent leadership roles within the DuPage County legal community. She has served as President of the DuPage County Bar Association, President of the DuPage County Bar Foundation, President of the DuPage Justinian Society of Lawyers, and President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers.

Additionally, Mulyk’s exemplary legal skills have been recognized through numerous professional accolades. She has been named an Illinois "Super Lawyers" Rising Star, and maintains a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating, as well as a 10.0 "Superb” Avvo Rating for Family Law and Child Custody. In 2011, Mulyk was awarded the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation Pro Bono Attorney Service Award.

In support of continuing legal education, Mulyk has taught as an Adjunct Professor
for College of DuPage’s Paralegal Studies Program, as well as presented for the Illinois Paralegal Association, DuPage County Bar Association Young Lawyers, Basic Skills for New Attorneys, and Mega Meeting.
