What is an Educational Support Order in Connecticut?

Conn. Gen. Stat. § 46b-56c defines an educational support order as a court order mandating that a parent provide financial support for a child or children to attend a higher education institution or a private career school for a maximum of four full academic years, aimed at obtaining a bachelor's degree, another undergraduate degree, or suitable vocational training. Educational support orders may be given to any child through the age of 22, and will be terminated as soon as they turn 23.
