The only school employees who may physically restrain a student or remove them to seclusion are those who have been trained in physical management, restraint, and seclusion procedures. This training may include:

de-escalation;

verbal diffusing;

prevention strategies;

physical restraint methods;

differences between life-threatening and other kinds of physical restraint;

differences between permissible physical restraint and pain compliance techniques;

monitoring a restrained or secluded person to prevent harm;
